points
Give InCAD/MSCad the ability to link mulitple dwg files to one (1) single point database. This is similar to the LDD concept of many dwgs, one point database. MSCad works great for small jobs, but as soon as you get into a big project, point management becomes a nightmare and it hurts productivity. This would solve that problem.

Add QC Reporting For Survey Data
This is a long topic and I hope others have some good ideas for reporting requirements.
All the data is there, I need to be able to check the quality of the data without reading all the traverse files line by line, especially in large projects.RTK Reporting
I would like to be able to select any point and view:
Antenna Height
RMS
Solution type (fixed, float etc)SV's
Time
Vector data and precision
Traverse file nameConventional
Measurement info
Reduced HZ,VA,SD,HD
Standard deviation of measurement set
Traverse file nameI would like to be able to generate various reports…
76 votesWe are going to do this, but it requires an integrated attack so we produce an updated FieldGenius and MicroSurvey CAD version at the same time.

scale bar
Carlson Survey has a very nice routine for adding scale bars. When you have your drawing set at the proper scale say 1"=30', when you insert a scale bar, viola! the scale bar comes in at 1"=30'. And if you need to add another scale bar for another view port, say an area you want to show more detail, change the project settings scale to 10 scale and boom! the scale bar comes in at 1"=10'.

create a routine for making breaklines
It would be great if a routine was there to create breaklines by just clicking on existing lines and/or the same way lines are created by point number and range of point numbers. Better yet would be to have any lines in a drawing to be used as a breakline.
38 votesI think there are ways we can make this easier. If you know all the commands in MicroSurvey you can use them to accomplish the task, but there is a good reason to make it easier by adding some functionality to the MsSurface menu in the breakline area.

Show all observations from a DBX file in the Active Traverse Editor
I need to have the ability to see the sets of angles from a Leica DBX file produced by an MS 50 in the Active Traverse Editor and have the ability to edit any of the of sets or individual observations within a set. Also have the editor compute the statistical values of the each set and the combination of all sets/observations and have the ability to comment out (not use and not remove
) an angle set or a single observation.35 votes -
Finally beef up & expand the engineering design options such as storm & sanitary line layouts.
The current routines have not been upgraded in years, despite previous promises to make these far more robust. Let's expand the road layout and manhole/catch basin design options!

Make the output format for Legal Description Writer customizable.
I would like to be able to control what terms and variables are used to write legal descriptions. The format it uses for curves is not used at all around here. Arc length, radius, and chord bearing/distance would be nice.

LandXML Export Improvement
Please improve the LandXML exporting function include the border for surfaces. As it currently stands, a exported surface, when reimported into microsurvey or another autocad program does not recognize the surface border and squares the surface. Ex. A surface of a star of david, when exported then reimported into the drawing, will be a surface of a square.

Directional leaders when labeling bearings
The program should give us the option of automatically drawning directional arrows when labeling bearings

Point Removal
We really would like to see the ability that would allow the user to easily "remove" certain points from the drawing to clear up certain areas without removing the points permanently from the database . We find that it is way more time consuming trying to separate elevation grid points from topographic points by creating multiple layers and or freezing the layers point number, description and elevation. LDD worked that way and we would like to see something like that worked into the program.

Add annotate commands
- There is not line or curve annotation commands off the line by leader.
- Auto Bearing & Dist offline (both stacked and side by side)
- Point to point labels for B&D (both stacked & side by side)
- Also when adding a bearing, if I press on one end, it should assume that is the beginning end of the line and put the appropriate bearing from that end.

Helmerts Transformation - Disable Rotation
When fitting to an old astronomic plan I generally use a Helmert's Transformation. This causes problems when the rotation of the "local" points to the plan points is applied since bearings no longer match the listed plan. If you could disable the rotation and have a best fit translation it would help considerably.

another labelling menu
Need to label line by point number(ie 458..236) without drawing the line.Same labelling options as annotate line menu.

Snaps - Leave the latest (ONE) enabled until changed.
Great Improvement from MScadd 2010, but it wouldn't be as frustrating if it remembers the latest enabled snap until changed. To constantly revert to the snap pallate ends up time consuming.

Fix existing issues please, not new features.
Don't add any new features, enhancements, frills, rather concentrate on systematically going through the whole program(s) and fix once and for all the broken or fickle areas of the program(s).
As programs develop over many years and new features get added the program becomes disjointed, not fluent and things could be better organised to make the whole application cleaner, leaner and more stable.
Currently MsCad has settings for various parts of the program spread across different areas.
COGO, Traverse etc all could do with a revamp and make it easier for egs to go straight to a dialogue box where…18 votes -
To be able to change/scale straight/curvy leader arrowhead style
I use basic straight or curvy leaders alot on my maps, and you can't change the arrowhead style like a dimension arrow... the canned leader-arrowhead is a polyline, un-editable, and it's too long and skinny, it looks bad and just doesn't work for me. total pain, I've been starting with the multi-leader command using my own arrowhead, or an aligned dimension, but you need to explode, edit the text out etc... then copy/paste/edit/scale etc until it's the way I want it. C&G and Eaglepoint had some nice leader features.

Curve and bearing Table - make it so we can control the direction of the labels in the table bearing
Be able to pick the end of the line and have the direction of the bearing you need in the table , appears its labeled based on the direction of the line as drawn . This is a pain with big tables.

Have smart TIN lines.
Being able to just pick a TIN line and move it to another point or creating a new line. Modifying a line. And let MS create all needed contouring layers automatically. Updating new contour lines without starting all over.
Geez this contouring package is terrible. About 15 years behind the others.16 votes -
Better Manipulation of Annotation Data
Being able to control how the program annotates "automatically" would be a great time saver to make the final plat cartographically pleasing. The command MSTools | Subdivision / House Design | Label Lot Number and Area for example; When you use this it rotates to the front of the lot and I believe that it should have the option to change the default rotation to, say, 0°. It should also be able to change the order of the text as Lot number should come first in the list and not last. I would also like to make the individual texts…

Toggle automatic point creation ON/OFF
When creating objects through COGO, points are automatically created at the end of the object. When working on a road design for example, it would be convenient to have the option to toggle the auto points creation ON/OFF. It creates more control for the user as to where they want points. If a change is wanted for an object, you can change the object but the points remain in the same spot, which is a hassle considering these points were never necessary in the first place.
