Give InCAD/MSCad the ability to link mulitple dwg files to one (1) single point database. This is similar to the LDD concept of many dwgs, one point database. MSCad works great for small jobs, but as soon as you get into a big project, point management becomes a nightmare and it hurts productivity. This would solve that problem.

This seems like a great idea that would also help with parcel mapping. If I have two abutting subdivisions, could I have one point in a DB that is shared by both MSCad files? This could lead to very large point numbers if I link every subdivision in a city together, so it would be necessary for each MSCad file to maintain its own point IDs which are unique only to that file, but are linked to the "master" point ID database.

I mentioned something like this many years ago. We often have one large job such as subdivisions with multiple phases. There are several plans drawn up which access the same data base. It would be nice to have one drawing that would contain the database and could be xreference in the several drawings that we prepare for the job and have a link back to the coordinates in the database drawing to transfer those particular coordinates being accessed in the database drawing to the current working file. So long as the link between the 2 is established than if the coordinates in the original database drawing is changed that there will be a notification in the other drawing of the change with a few options including to sever the link if so desired.
