There are instances when it would be useful to do a least squares adjustment on existing geometry (lines and arcs) inside a cad drawing. One example: An existing subdivision is drawn in MSCad, and later some of the key survey bars are surveyed with GPS and it is required to "move" the subdivision to UTM coordinates. But the subdivision was created in 1962 and doesn't fit the GPS points perfectly. By exporting to Star*Net, you could force the subdivision to fit the GPS points while placing additional constraints on the adjustment (e.g., holding all the front corners of the lots onto a common straight street line, or holding the radius of all front points of a cul-de-sac). Star*Net could be used to adjust the coordinates of all the points which would then be used to update the coordinates of the geometry in MSCad. On a large scale, this could be used to adjust and maintain parcel mapping of entire municipalities.

There are other cases where this would be a good tool as well - I'm sure you have your own examples.
