  1. When creating a cut sheet report in MSCAD from a FG file, I would to have options as to what the report says. i.e. Design E - Design N - Asbuilt E –Asbuilt N –Delta E- Delta N- Hdist. And the Deltas to be from the Design to the AsBuilt. and the Asbuilt to Design.

  3. As a standard contour labels should be drawn in an orientation so they are readable from lower to higher. At the moment contour labels are always drawn that they are readable page up. This makes it hard to see straight away, where on the plan are the high points and where are the low points. Architects might disagree, as it doesn't look as nice, if the labels are upside down in some places, but I'm pretty sure it is more useful, when reading a plan.
It should be possible from the TIN to determine, which side is up, so the…

  4. creating a circle, slot or rectangle around text objects, like the "tcircle" command does in other CAD packages. Or even better create filled objects around text object, like a wipeout, but where you can select any colour for the wipeout.

  6. We do a lot of work as-builting pipelines and would love a command that uses input/output scale factors to calculate chainage on a 2d and 3d polyline

  7. When working with an Autocadd Civil 3D file, Microsurvey is unable to edit or work with the objects created using the mleader command in Autocadd. The only way to work with these entities is to explode and work with the individual components. That causes issues when an Autocadd then follows behind and opens the drawing.

  8. Carlson Survey has a very nice routine for adding scale bars. When you have your drawing set at the proper scale say 1"=30', when you insert a scale bar, viola! the scale bar comes in at 1"=30'. And if you need to add another scale bar for another view port, say an area you want to show more detail, change the project settings scale to 10 scale and boom! the scale bar comes in at 1"=10'.

  10. We currently run AutoCAD Map 3D and now need to be able to create contours, surfaces, profiles, etc. I've been using InCAD and like how easy it is to complete these items. The only thing that's missing is being able to drape an image (geo-ref'd or not) over a surface. This would allow me not to have to purchase the beast Civil 3D and learn another language.

  11. In Coordinate Editor we select by Window and by description and more.
There could be a big saving of time if we could save by last group of points that had been picked. Also save control point we pick every time in a Subdivision. We could then pick the saved points and then the few new points.

  12. The points are complete now.
I would like the Micro Survey CAD 2015 removed.
Give us the option to replace with another name.
Example : Elliott and Parr Surveyors

You may be the ones that made it all possible, but do you
want the problems that may happen with that point.

  13. Request:

Create or extend the line function tool in the inquiry toolbars to include:

    • Grade in %

    • Grade in 1:x

    Currently as below:

    Starting point for distance
    End point:
Distance = 1.176, Angle in XY Plane = 188°8'46", Angle from XY Plane = 0°0'0"
    Delta X = -1.164, Delta Y = -0.167, Delta Z = 0.000

Also when selecting the function the command should not stop running until esc is selected ion the keyboard. At the moment you have to constantly keep selecting the tool.

    Thank you in advance.

  14. One of the best features of Field Genius is the ability to use the "pencil tool" to manually draw lines, arcs, etc. especially in complex areas or where two different lines meet--such as the edge of a gravel driveway coming off of an asphalt street. With the pencil tool, it is possible for our field surveyors to get either an EA (Edge Of Asphalt) or EG (Edge Of Gravel) shot at this common point and use the pencil tool to draw the respective EA/EG lines. An issue presents itself when we bring this data in from Field Genius, however—MSCAD seems…

  15. It is essential for Field Genius users to have the ability to have more continuity when importing data to MSCAD. Currently, 3d arcs and 2d/3d "curvey lines" created in Field Genius are treated as polylines in MSCAD, which means if a user needs to shift points or transform the points database (change coordinate system, geoid model, etc.) that ONLY the straight lines created in Field Genius are updated with the revised point locations--any remaining arcs, curvey lines, etc. are left in their original position. You essentially end up in a situation where one has to redraw arcs/curvey lines or apply…

MicroSurvey CAD 2017 includes a polylines database for this exact reason, so that such polylines update automatically with the points.

The KML Export to Google Earth command does not yet look at the new Polylines database, but this is high on our priority list to add in a future update.

  16. I would like to be able to control what terms and variables are used to write legal descriptions. The format it uses for curves is not used at all around here. Arc length, radius, and chord bearing/distance would be nice.

  17. I need to have the ability to see the sets of angles from a Leica DBX file produced by an MS 50 in the Active Traverse Editor and have the ability to edit any of the of sets or individual observations within a set. Also have the editor compute the statistical values of the each set and the combination of all sets/observations and have the ability to comment out (not use and not remove
) an angle set or a single observation.

  18. We really would like to see the ability that would allow the user to easily "remove" certain points from the drawing to clear up certain areas without removing the points permanently from the database . We find that it is way more time consuming trying to separate elevation grid points from topographic points by creating multiple layers and or freezing the layers point number, description and elevation. LDD worked that way and we would like to see something like that worked into the program.

  19. MSCAD needs to have the ability to have vertical faces and other solid objects, put into the drawings via points, or manual methods. The Tin needs to be able to recognize these objects, or at the very least treat them in a manner that is to be ignored without cuasing error. The Tin could just run right into a solid object (such as a water channer shear retaining wall) then move along the face of the object if need be befor picking up the next survey point. This would make area calculations potentially easier. Especially if you can then set…

  20. Create a auto number feature where you can set the increment. You could pick text say a lot number or PIN and it would copy that txt but increase the number by the set increment. This would be helpful when doing large subdivisions or putting PINs on a plan where they increase in numerical order. This would increase efficiency by avoiding having to copy paste then changing number to the next one in order. Function would just need you to set increment then copy and paste without having to edit text.
